How To Write An Acting Resume Special Skills Section
Probably the very last section on your acting resume should be the “special skills” section. This is where you include special training and abilities that may be relevant to the acting jobs you are applying for. They should of course be tailored for this; there is no need to include skills that you will be unlikely to actually use.
This is where a lot of actors and actresses go wrong when writing the special skills section of their acting resume. If you include too many things, then the really important ones will get lost in the noise. No one is going to read through a list of a dozen or more things, it’ll just look like a big section of text.
One way you can help avoid this is by formatting the special skills section in a very clear and uncluttered way. Definitely use bullet points, and list as few as you can manage. Things like stage combat training and dialects should be included, and anything else that reasonably pertains to your target roles. Leave out anything that you probably won’t be called on to do in a role, as it will only reduce the effectiveness of the special skills that you have listed on your actors resume already.
